I feel like I have some kind of adware that disenables the blocker, but I can’t find it. Once a pop-up opens its address changes so fast I can’t read what the original was to even attempt to find it and Anti-Spy hasn’t helped me get rid of whatever causes this permanently. I do see "click" or something with "click" in the address of many of these pop-ups when it first opens.

If you are using IE 7 or using IE 6 under Windows XP Service pack 2 or 3, then you don’t need to use the pop-up blocker on the Y! toolbar. Either turn if off (by clicking it) or remove the button. Click IE Tools button and on the drop-down list, you will see Pop-Up blocker. It is recommended to use only one pop-up blocker and preferably the one provided by the browser. Even Yahoo! doesn’t have a pop-up blocker under Firefox because Firefox comes with one built-in. If you prefer, you can report the problem to Yahoo! Customer Care:

Yahoo Norton anti-spy was working 2 weeks ago but now I cannot install updated definitions. The definitions appear to download but won’t install. The machine sits there for hours with pages transferring (from the world symbol to the computer) but nothing happens. I tried uninstalling, then reinstalling (several times) but without sucess. My last definition update was then reset to 8/5/06. I tried turning off Norton anti-virus and SP2 firewall without sucess. I do not have any other blocking software. Virus scans and another parties spy ware check is clean. Active X contols are on and all pop-up blockers are off. Any suggestions?

The latest version of the toolbar no longer has the Norton Security button. I reported the problem to Y! Customer Care and got the response that the Norton deal with Yahoo! had expired. Bottom line: There is nothing wrong with your system. Norton Spyware Scanner is no longer supported.
However, I am aware of Norton Security software available with the Google pack:

I haven’t try that version, but you could. I would remove Norton (NSS) from add or remove programs before installing the above. Good luck.

hey i tried to play a game and this thing called n protect game guard.and it said i had a virus.and i pressed heal then it took me to a site.after it loaded it was telling me to download this other game guard thing to heal it.and after that it was saying i have to pay to heal the things and when i try to exit off this thing called scan virus/spyware keeps coming back every time i try to exit.and even when i restart the comp it is still there when i get back on. what do i do?

There are a lot of malware programs out there that try to scam you by running a security scan of your computer and them telling you your computer is infected so you will by the bogus program that will supposedly clean your computer. The next time that happens to you, just close out the window or click cancel.

To fix this problem, reboot you computer and go into safe mode by pressing the F8 key repeatedly. This will stop all other programs from running except for the windows program. At this time you can do two things, first update all your security software then download Malwarebyte and Super Antispyware from filehippo.com. Run a full scan and you should be up and running again.

I’m looking for a spyware program but I’ve had issues and have read that both:
spybot & super anti-spyware
aren’t up to par in catching spyware… I’ve used both and have found that they haven’t done there job so what other free spyware programs do you recommend ??
Adaware will only catch ADWARE, I already have it I’m looking for a very indepth spyware scanner…
